The Blade has confirmed his recent absence from AEW is due to a lower back injury.

The 43-year-old, who teams with The Butcher in AEW and Ring of Honor, took to Instagram to provide an update on his status.

He noted that he is currently off the road, dealing with two bulging discs and two ruptured discs.

The sidelined wrestler included a picture of himself at home in Buffalo, New York, with physical therapist Anthony Albano.

He thanked Tony Khan and AEW for allowing him time off to heal, but had no timeline for a return. While noting he is “on track”, he also admitted:

I’m not sure where this journey I’m on is gonna lead. But, I have a lot of options and a great team around me and that’s a beautiful thing.

The Blade last wrestled on February 4th for Alpha-1 Wrestling at a show in Hamilton, Ontario. His most recent television appearance was on the pre-taped January 10th edition of ROH on HonorClub.
