This week at POST Wrestling we have a full schedule of shows planned.
Before we look ahead, I wanted to make mention of a few highlights on the site from the past week:
*Bleacher Report’s Jonathan Snowden has written an extensive piece on Kiyoshi Tamura and arguing in favor of his inclusion for the Wrestling Observer Newsletter Hall of Fame. If Tamura doesn’t receive 50% of the votes for his region, he will be dropped off the ballot. It’s an excellent feature and has received a lot of compliments since Friday.
*Don Leo Jonathan, who was a tremendous big man with noteworthy rivalries with Andre the Giant in Montreal, Killer Kowalski, Madison Square Garden main events with Pedro Morales & Bruno Sammartino and a world traveler, passed away over the weekend at the age of 87. We have a look back at his career with highlights and video footage that is out there on Jonathan.
*Chris Charlton and his brother Matt have a great edition of EGGSHELLS up on the free feed analyzing the year 2005 with New Japan and NOAH running the Tokyo Dome. This was a rock-bottom year for New Japan and featured the sale to Yukes, who previously owned New Japan prior to Bushiroad. This era included Brock Lesnar’s debut for the company for a forgettable run that did more harm than good for the group. On the other side of the coin was NOAH, who had an excellent Dome event in 2004 and returned the following year with Mitsuharu Misawa vs. Toshiaki Kawada and an epic match involving Kensuke Sasaki and Kenta Kobashi.
*We also have a Bound for Glory POST Show with Nate Milton joining me to review Sunday’s card from New York, the booking of the Impact title match, the “Undead Realm” segment, a look at the state of Impact and a discussion on the WWE’s Crown Jewel event.
