Roman Reigns (Joe Anoa’i) announced at the start of Monday’s episode of Raw that he is battling leukemia and is relinquishing the WWE Universal title.

He added that he was first diagnosed with the disease in 2007 and is optimistic he will beat it this time as well.

The news followed Reigns’ absence from this past weekend’s house shows where he was advertised.

We had inquired on Monday if Reigns had suffered an injury and were told that whatever is going on with Reigns would be addressed in the opening segment of Raw.

We will have the latest on this story and more on Rewind-A-Raw tonight.
