The first match for the Ring of Honor and New Japan G1 Supercard appears to be official following Saturday’s Honor Rising event.

On Saturday’s card at Korakuen Hall, the Guerrillas of Destiny defeated EVIL and Sanada to become champions for the 5th time. Later in the show, The Briscoe Brothers retained their ROH tag titles over Juice Robinson and David Finlay. After the main event, the challenge was made for a battle of the two sets of champions on Saturday, April 6th at Madison Square Garden.

The Briscoes won the ROH tag titles from SCU at Final Battle this past December in New York City.

The two sets of champions teamed up on Friday’s Honor Rising card but ended with the two teams attacking the other after Jado struck Mark Briscoe with a kendo stick leading to the finish.
