WRESTLING NEWS
**Starrcast has announced that Kenta Kobashi will be at next month’s convention in a rare U.S. appearance. It is the first time Kobashi has come to the United States since his legendary match against Samoa Joe at the Manhattan Center in October 2005 for Ring of Honor. The convention has also announced LAX, Allie, Rosemary, Private Party, and David Crockett appearing that weekend in Las Vegas.
**After the Kobashi announcement, they announced that Bret Hart and Tom Magee will be part of a panel to discuss their match from 1986. The panel will be on Saturday, May 25th at Caesar’s Palace. We originally wrote that they would be screening the match, which the teaser video implies but doesn’t outright confirm and only states the two will be discussing the match.
**The Dark Side of the Ring series continues tonight at 9 pm Eastern with “The Killing of Bruiser Brody” on Viceland. The episode was initially screened at Starrcast last year and Viceland did make this show available for U.S. viewers prior to tonight’s airing. The episode features several of the wrestlers that were in the locker room in Bayamon on July 16, 1988, with Tony Atlas and Dutch Mantell the key people in the documentary with Atlas being right there as it happened and hearing Brody scream. Abdullah the Butcher (Larry Shreve) was there that night but in the heel locker room and doesn’t come off well in tonight’s piece. They also spoke to Brody’s widow Barbara Goodish and their son, Geoffrey. We will have an extensive review of the episode on tonight’s Double Shot for Café members.

Montano is eligible on May 15th, O’Malley is eligible to return immediately, Vettori is also eligible to compete immediately but is no longer with the UFC after being granted his release last June. For Mendes, he was first flagged in March 2018 and told MMA Fighting that he spent over $20,000 in legal fees and having his supplements tested.
