During Saturday’s NXT TakeOver event, it was announced that the next NXT UK version will take place on Saturday, August 31st.
The date will immediately raise eyebrows with WWE opting to run a card head-to-head with New Japan’s card in London, England at the Copper Box Arena. The show also lands on the same day as All Elite Wrestling’s All Out card at the Sears Centre in Chicago, although the NXT show should be over by the time AEW begins.
On the TakeOver Q&A with Cathy Kelley, Paul Levesque addressed the timing of the show and stated the building was booked prior to WrestleMania and didn’t have anything to do with anything else going on that day.
The NXT UK TakeOver event will take place from Cardiff, Wales with a venue yet to be announced and will air live on the WWE Network at 3 pm Eastern.
The first NXT UK TakeOver took place this past January at the Empress Ballroom in Blackpool, England and was headlined by Pete Dunne defeating Joe Coffey and the subsequent debut of Walter to confront Dunne inside the ring.
