This week at POST Wrestling, we will have coverage of several big events this weekend, including the WWE’s Super Showdown card on Friday from Saudi Arabia.
Wai Ting and I will be live with a show after the Super Showdown but will be approaching our coverage as we did Crown Jewel last November. In place of a traditional review, we will go through the events of the card but then focus on the larger stories involving WWE and their partnership with the Saudi Arabian government. We are scheduled to be joined by two guests so far with Karim Zidan, who is an excellent journalist with Bloody Elbow and has been covering the connection between combat sports and politics for years. In addition, Will Cooling of Fighting Spirit Magazine and the British Wrestling Report podcast will chat with us about the politics in the region and WWE’s involvement.
Over the weekend, we will have a show dedicated to the UFC 238 card from Chicago with Phil Chertok joining me and a Patreon show with Wai and I reviewing New Japan’s Dominion card.
We are also releasing more bonus interviews from our Owen Hart audio documentary. So far, we have posted the interviews with Jimmy Korderas, Jason King, Heath McCoy, and Paul Lazenby. On Wednesday, we will be adding the 30-minute chat I had with Jeff Marek and then the Treigh Lindstrom interview will be out next Monday. All members of the POST Wrestling Café can access these interviews.
We appreciate all the feedback to WH Park’s new series “Cruel Summer” as he goes through the history of the G-1 Climax. New shows will be released each Saturday & Sunday with 1993 and 1994 on tap this weekend with Damon MacDonald and Mavs Gillis joining WH.
Plus, Wai Ting and I will have a review of the Best of the Super Juniors final on The Double Shot on Wednesday night among the week’s releases.
