Chad Gable debuted on Tuesday night’s edition of 205 Live in a match with Jack Gallagher in Sacramento, California.
The two had a fantastic match that went 11:50 featuring plenty of spectacular maneuvers. Gable applied an ankle lock, which was countered into a Fujiwara armbar and then Gable broke free to hit a Tiger Driver.
On the floor, Gable hit a German suplex that rotated Gallagher and he landed on his chest. Gallagher failed to make it back into the ring and was counted out.
I heard from someone at WWE after the show that said it was a legitimate countout with Gallagher slipping.
It’s a happy accident because people will want to see a rematch and it came off as a great way to set up it up with the replays.
In the main event, they had a four-way match involving Akira Tozawa, Drew Gulak, Humberto Carrillo, and Oney Lorcan with the winner challenging Tony Nese for the Cruiserweight title at Stomping Grounds.
This was another great match that had the audience chanting ‘205 Live’ at points. Ariya Daivari took out Lorcan with a chair shot while Gulak shoved Carrillo off the top turnbuckle to the floor and was left with Tozawa. Gulak executed a superplex to Tozawa and both had their shoulders down for the double pin as they went off the air with an inconclusive winner.
