On late Tuesday evening (Wednesday afternoon in Japan), Will Ospreay sent out the following tweet indicating his medical clearance to participate in Thursday’s G1 Climax 29 A Block main event against Kota Ibushi at Korakuen Hall:
Death can kiss me all it wants, it never nails me. Translation: I got the green light. See you tomorrow Korakuen.
Ospreay had reportedly suffered a neck injury earlier in the tournament, missing Monday’s undercard tag team match before undergoing medical evaluation.
Ospreay last faced Ibushi at this year’s Wrestle Kingdom 13, defeating him in an early match of the year contender. Thursday’s rematch is one of the most heavily anticipated of the entire tournament. He currently stands 1-1 (2 points) in this year’s G1 Climax standings while Ibushi is 0-2 (0 points).
