MMA NEWS
**Conor McGregor is the subject of yet another public incident, this time over an alleged altercation at a bar in Ireland this past April. TMZ has posted a video of McGregor entering the Marble Arch Pub in Dublin on April 6th this year and started pouring his Proper Twelve whiskey to patrons in the bar. One man seated at the bar continually refused, ending with McGregor striking the elderly man on his stool. Police were notified of the incident but told TMZ that while they are investigating the incident that no arrests have been made.
**In a surprising move, the UFC has released former title contender Cat Zingano with MMA Junkie breaking the story on Wednesday. Zingano, who just turned 37, entered the promotion in 2013 and defeated Miesha Tate to earn a spot as a coach on TUF opposite Ronda Rousey and receive the next title fight. A knee injury that required surgery for Zingano led to Tate replacing her as a coach and getting the title fight. Zingano didn’t return until September 2014, where she beat current two-division champion Amanda Nunes at UFC 178 and then challenged Rousey at UFC 184 in February 2015 with Rousey submitting her in fourteen seconds. Since the loss to Rousey, she has gone 1-3 and last fought in December where she went up to featherweight and was defeated by Megan Anderson in controversial fashion. Anderson threw a head kick and her toe caught Zingano’s eye and affected her vision leading to the stoppage. Zingano gave a statement to ESPN indicating she was in the middle of an outside project and would not disrupt that and the UFC opted to release her.
**With Cat Zingano recently fighting at featherweight and Cris “Cyborg” Justino free to sign elsewhere, both Bellator and the Professional Fighters League could make a big splash by signing either or both women to bolster their featherweight divisions.
**The ESPN E:60 feature on Daniel Cormier that aired this past weekend, will premiere in Canada tonight at 7 pm Eastern on TSN 1 and 4.
**ESPN’s Marc Raimondi recently spent 24 hours at the Firehall where Stipe Miocic works several days per week and does it all year regardless of when he’s fighting.
