2020 NJPW G1 Climax Tournament To Wrap Up In October

The G1 Climax 30 tournament final is being pushed back to October due to the 2020 Summer Olympics being in Tokyo, Japan.

Prior to the final three matches of New Japan Pro-Wrestling’s Wrestle Kingdom 14 two-day show, the company made announcements about the dates and locations for a number of their events in 2020. The 27th Best Of The Super Juniors tournament will kick off on June 6th. It has already been confirmed that Sakura Genesis is returning as an event on March 31st, but due to 2020 Summer Olympics being in Tokyo, Japan from July 24th through August 9th, New Japan has pushed back the G1 Climax final until October.

That final stretch is from October 16th to October 18th and the events will take place inside Sumo Hall.

The winner of the 2019 G1 Climax 29 tournament was Kota Ibushi and he fell in defeat to Kazuchika Okada on night one of Wrestle Kingdom 14. There is a audio recap of night one up on the site and a recap of night two will be uploaded after night two concludes. For a written recap of night one of Wrestle Kingdom 14, click this link.
