This past weekend, Impact Wrestling held two nights of television tapings at Fronton Mexico in Mexico City, which will begin airing this Tuesday on AXS TV.
One of the notable outcomes occurred during Saturday’s taping with Jordynne Grace defeating Taya Valkyrie to become the new Knockout’s champion. The title change follows last weekend’s Hard to Kill pay-per-view where Valkyrie retained the title in a three-way with Grace and ODB. During that match, Valkyrie stole the pin from Grace and covered ODB.
The title change ends Valkyrie’s reign of more than one year after winning the title on January 6, 2019, from Tessa Blanchard at Impact’s ‘Homecoming’ pay-per-view.
It is not known when the title change will be airing on television. They are promoting the following for this Tuesday’s show on AXS TV:
*Moose vs. Rhino vs. Taurus
*Rosemary vs. Jessicka Havok
*Tessa Blanchard will kick off the show
The other notable story coming out of the weekend was an incident caught on tape between Konnan and Psicosis II (not the original who wrestled in WWE, WCW, and ECW).
According to the Lucha Blog outlet, Psicosis II believes that Konnan has prevented AAA from using him and after an exchange on Twitter last month, he confronted Konnan, who was in Mexico City working with Impact. Psicosis II showed up at the event unmasked, but people recognized who it was due to his tattoos and argued with Konnan. It escalated to the point that Psicosis II slapped Konnan, who would not engage with him and ended with Psicosis II leaving.
