On Wednesday night’s edition of NXT, the winners of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic were crowned with the finals involving Matt Riddle & Pete Dunne and the Grizzled Young Vets.
In the main event of the show, Riddle & Dunne defeated Zack Gibson & James Drake to earn an NXT tag title shot at the upcoming TakeOver: Portland card on Sunday, February 16th. The got to the finals after defeating Mark Andrews & Flash Morgan Webster and Fabian Aichner & Marcel Barthel.
Riddle & Dunne join previous teams of Samoa Joe & Finn Balor, The Authors of Pain, Adam Cole & Kyle O’Reilly, and Aleister Black & Ricochet that have won the tournament.
It was also announced on Wednesday’s episode that Tommaso Ciampa will challenge Adam Cole for the NXT Title at the TakeOver special in Portland, Oregon.
