A rematch between Raw women’s champion Becky Lynch and Asuka was set up on Monday’s episode of Raw to take place next week in Ontario, California.
Following her submission victory over Natalya with the Asuka Lock, Asuka issued a challenge for a rematch with the Raw women’s champion. Becky Lynch proceeded to come out and accept the challenger before disposing of Kairi Sane and walking off with her championship.
The rematch will occur two weeks after their recent match at the Royal Rumble where Lynch avenged her loss from the Rumble in 2019.
Lynch has been Raw women’s champion for almost ten months since defeating Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair in the main event of WrestleMania 35 last April at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Asuka has never held the Raw women’s championship.
