Ladder match announced for TakeOver: Tampa, winner earns shot at NXT Women’s Title

At NXT TakeOver: Tampa, there will be a Ladder match to determine the #1 contender to the NXT Women's Championship.

During the February 26th episode of NXT on the USA Network, NXT GM William Regal announced that at NXT TakeOver: Tampa on April 4th, there will be a Ladder match to determine the #1 contender to the NXT Women’s Championship. Regal stated that starting next week, there will be qualifying matches to fill the spots in the match and come TakeOver: Tampa, a new #1 contender will be determined.

The current NXT Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley is defending her title against Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 36.

The last time there was a women’s Ladder match in NXT, Io Shirai and Mia Yim competed in the match to determine which one of their teams would gain the advantage in WarGames. This episode of NXT is going to be recapped by the upNXT crew and their podcast will be uploaded to the site following tonight’s NXT.
