AEW Dynamite notes: The Exalted One to be revealed, Lance Archer debuts

A plethora of notes coming out of AEW Dynamite in West Valley City, Utah. The Exalted One will be revealed next week, Lance Archer debuted, Bea Priestley attacked Nyla Rose, the Blood & Guts match rules were revealed and much more.

Tonight’s edition of AEW: Dynamite set up the next two weeks of programming for All Elite Wrestling. Firstly, Christopher Daniels did a parody of the Dark Order recruitment promo and he issued a challenge to Evil Uno and Stu Grayson. Daniels stated that he wants to wrestle them in singles matches and if “The Exalted One” doesn’t show face after those matches, he’s convinced there is no Exalted One. Soon after, it was revealed that the Dark Order will present the Exalted One next week in Rochester, New York.

Cody vs. Ortiz opened tonight’s Dynamite and during their match, Lance Archer arrived alongside Jake “The Snake” Roberts to watch the match. Last week, Roberts stated that he had a client coming to AEW to take “Cody’s share of the pie” and that client is the former IWGP U.S. Heavyweight Champion Lance Archer.

Bea Priestly and AEW Women’s World Champion Nyla Rose defeated Hikaru Shida and Kris Statlander and after the match, Priestley ambushed Nyla Rose and held up the AEW Women’s World Title.

During a segment with Tony Schiavone, Britt Baker was interrupted by Big Swole. Both Swole and Baker traded jabs at one another and referenced their respective husbands, Cedric Alexander and NXT Champion Adam Cole.

The rules for the Blood & Guts match between The Elite (Kenny Omega, Hangman Page, Cody & The Young Bucks) and The Inner Circle (Chris Jericho, Jake Hager, Santana, Ortiz & Sammy Guevara) were revealed. Here are the rules as followed:

– Two men enter the cage for one five-minute round
– Every two minutes another participant enters
– Match officially begins after all ten men have entered the cage
– The winning team is determined by making any opponent submit or surrender (no pin falls, count outs or escaping the cage)

On next week’s Dynamite, The Elite and The Inner Circle will compete in a six man tag team match and the winners will earn the numbers advantage in the Blood & Guts match for their team. Also on next week’s show, Rey Fenix and Pentagon Jr. are taking on Chuck Taylor and Trent. Former Lucha Underground Champion Marty “The Moth” Martinez was backstage at the show in Utah.
