New Japan Pro Wrestling has canceled two more shows including its Sumo Hall event that was scheduled for March 31st.

Despite smaller groups either continuing to run or re-opening their doors during the pandemic, New Japan has opted to stay away from running live events.

The Sumo Hall show was the company’s big ‘Sakura Genesis’ show that was to feature the winner of the New Japan Cup challenging for the IWGP heavyweight title. There was one year where Shinsuke Nakamura won the tournament and challenged for the Intercontinental title in 2014.

They have also canceled the April 11th ‘Road to Dontaku’ show in Sagamihara.

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, New Japan stopped running events after their February 26th show in Okinawa. This has included the Anniversary card and entire New Japan Cup not taking place in March.

There has been no announcement regarding the remainder of the ‘Road to Dontaku’ shows throughout the month of April.
