NXT’s special TakeOver edition of the show results in 693,000 viewers watching the show on the USA Network, which was an improvement by 17% from last week’s low number of 590,000.

NXT narrowly edged AEW by 1,000 viewers with Dynamite averaging 692,000 viewers and up 1% from last week. However, it was AEW ranked 32nd among cable programs with a 0.26 in the 18-49 demographic. NXT finished 51st with a 0.19 in the key demo of which the programming is ranked by.

NXT was built around the blow-off match between Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa that took up most of the second hour of the program. It also featured a six-way ladder match with Io Shirai winning and becoming the #1 contender for the NXT women’s title.

AEW launched the TNT Championship tournament that saw Cody advance to the semi-finals after beating Shawn Spears with the figure-four. Next week’s episode will feature a taped match between AEW champion Jon Moxley and Jake Hager for the title.

AEW was up with adults 18-49 and males 18-49 by 4% and 6% respectively. They were down with women 12-34 by 27% and adults 18-34 by 13% from last week.

We don’t have breakdowns of the demos for NXT, which did not chart among the top 50 cable programs for Wednesday night.
