AEW Dynamite topped NXT again this week with total viewership and among the 18-49 demographic as the program gets set for next week’s live show.
Dynamite on TNT ranked 16th for the night among cable programs with 693,000 viewers and 0.27 in the 18-49 demographic. It translates to a 5% drop in viewers but an 8% bump in the demo. The show was built around the semi-finals of the TNT Championship tournament with Cody defeating Darby Allin in the opener, and Lance Archer over Dustin Rhodes to close the show.
On the USA Network, NXT averaged 637,000 viewers and 0.16, which were declines of 4% and 11% respectively. The program ranked 51st on Wednesday among cable programs. The episode was headlined by Keith Lee retaining the NXT North American championship against Damian Priest.
The breakdown saw gains across most of AEW’s key demographics. This was led by adults 18-34 rising 15% and adults 25-54 by 10%. Their largest loss was among adults over 50 that fell 10% and males 12-34 down 7% this week.
Due to NXT not finishing among the top fifty cable programs, we don’t have a detailed breakdown of how it performed in the demographics.
NXT has taped next week’s episode, which features two championship matches with Adam Cole vs. Velveteen Dream and Charlotte Flair vs. Io Shirai.
AEW is returning to Jacksonville next week for a live show that will include Chris Jericho & Sammy Guevara vs. Kenny Omega & Matt Hardy, Cody vs. Joey Janela, Jon Moxley vs. Frankie Kazarian in a non-title match, and the return of MJF.
