Next week’s episode of NXT will be a big show for the brand with an NXT championship match and an NXT women’s title match scheduled.
In the NXT championship match, Adam Cole will defend the title against the Velveteen Dream. This follows a tag match last week where Dream teamed with Dexter Lumis against Cole and Roderick Strong ending with Dream pinning Cole.
Charlotte Flair will defend the NXT women’s title against Io Shirai and will be the first singles match between the two in their careers. Shirai earned the next championship shot after winning the six-woman ladder match that aired on the April 8th episode of NXT. Flair won the NXT women’s title on the first night of WrestleMania 36 that was taped last month and aired on April 4th.
They have also announced a match between Johnny Gargano and Dominik Dijakovic for next week’s show and are advertising an appearance by Karrion Kross (formerly Killer Kross) and Scarlett, as well as Finn Balor seeking the assailant who attacked him last week.
