IMPACT Wrestling announces tournament to determine Tessa Blanchard’s next challenger

IMPACT announced a tournament to determine the next challenger to Tessa Blanchard's IMPACT World Championship.

During the May 5th edition of IMPACT Wrestling on AXS TV, it was announced that a tournament will take place to determine the next #1 contender to Tessa Blanchard’s IMPACT World Championship. Blanchard was scheduled to defend the IMPACT World Title at the company’s ‘Rebellion’ event in a three-way match involving Michael Elgin and Eddie Edwards. She was not able to defend the title due to travel issues.

Tessa’s title defense will take place at a later date and the here are the first round match-ups in the tourney:

  • Rohit Raju vs. Trey
  • Sami Callihan vs. Michael Elgin
  • Ken Shamrock vs. Rhino
  • Madman Fulton vs. Hernandez

On next week’s show, the first round matches of Hernandez vs. Madman Fulton and Trey vs. Rohit Raju will take place. Tessa Blanchard was not able to defend her title at Rebellion so Michael Elgin was left without a match until Moose returned with the TNA World Heavyweight Title belt. Moose put that title on the line at Rebellion against Michael Elgin and Hernandez in a three-way and won the match.

On next week’s program, Moose is defending the TNA World Heavyweight Title against Suicide and also on next week’s show, the debuting Kimber Lee is taking on Jessicka Havok.
