During the opening segment of Monday Night Raw, it was officially announced that Randy Orton and Edge will have a rematch at the Backlash event next month.

Last week’s episode ended with Orton issuing the challenge and Edge not providing an answer as the show went off the air. The two kicked off this week’s show, which was taped last week.

The tagline WWE is pushing for the match is that is it may be ‘The Greatest Match Ever’.

It’s a rematch from their polarizing match at WrestleMania 36 that lasted a minute for each year there has been a WrestleMania. The length was heavily criticized and ended with Edge winning the ‘Last Man Standing Match’ in his first singles match since April 2011.

The Backlash event is scheduled for Sunday, June 14th with Orton and Edge being the first officially announced for the event.
