Ex-WWE talent featured in Slammiversary video, PPV date revealed

During Impact Wrestling, a teaser video for Slammiversary aired that featured several of the performers released by WWE in April.

The show-closing video saw an unknown figure pouring a drink and watching news coverage of WWE’s releases in April. It led to several images of performers that were part of the releases with Drake Maverick, Eric Young, Karl Anderson, Luke Gallows, Curt Hawkins, Mike Bennett, Maria Kanellis, and EC3 featured. Except for Anderson, all worked for Impact Wrestling in the past including Hawkins who was part of Jeff Jarrett’s Global Force Wrestling promotion and wrestled for Impact in 2015.

The video ended with a plug for Slammiversary that was announced for Saturday, July 18th but no location was revealed.

Obviously, the most interesting name included was Maverick, who is appearing on Wednesday’s taped episode of NXT where he faces El Hijo del Fantasma in the finals of the Cruiserweight Title Tournament.

Maverick (real name James Curtin) worked for Impact Wrestling/TNA from 2012-17 as Rockstar Spud.
