WWE NXT notes: Backlot Brawl stipulation added to TakeOver match, Okada cameo

Backlot Brawl stipulation added to TakeOver match, Karrion Kross warns Tommaso Ciampa, Kyle O'Reilly and Kazuchika Okada cameos and Robert Stone scouts Aliyah.

Velveteen Dream and Adam Cole’s NXT Championship match at TakeOver: In Your House was made official last week and on this week’s edition of NXT, it was revealed that their match will be a “Backlot Brawl” bout. If Dream loses, he can no longer challenge for the NXT Championship as long as Cole is champion.

Prime Target specials aired for the NXT and NXT Women’s Title matches at TakeOver. Kyle O’Reilly was a part of the NXT Title Prime Target special. O’Reilly has not been on NXT in-person since the March 11th episode as he is a resident of Canada. In the NXT Women’s Title Prime Target special, former 5-time IWGP Heavyweight Champion Kazuchika Okada made a brief cameo appearance when a photo was shown of Io Shirai at the Tokyo Sports Puroresu Awards.

After being “fired” by Chelsea Green, Robert Stone began to scout Aliyah on NXT and she fell in defeat to Santana Garrett in her match. Also, ahead of his match at TakeOver: In Your House, Karrion Kross ambushed Bronson Reed who was coming off a defeat via Cameron Grimes. Kross looked into the camera and put Tommaso Ciampa on notice before their bout this Sunday.
