On Monday, WWE confirmed that Edge (Adam Copeland) suffered a torn triceps during the match with Randy Orton and has undergone surgery for the injury.

WWE Digital has confirmed that Edge suffered a torn triceps as a result of injuries sustained during The Greatest Wrestling Match Ever. Edge has undergone successful surgery and is currently rehabbing at home.

News of Copeland’s injury was first reported by Sean Ross Sapp at Fightful.com.

While airing on Sunday’s Backlash broadcast, the match between Edge and Orton was filmed last weekend on Sunday, June 7th. It was Edge’s third match since returning following his appearance in the Royal Rumble in January and match with Orton at WrestleMania 36 that was taped in March.

There was no timetable provided for Copeland’s recovery. The performer is 46 years old and returned to the ring following a near nine-year layoff after announcing his retirement in April 2011.
