Report: Charlotte Flair set to undergo surgery

Charlotte Flair was involved in an angle on the June 22 episode of RAW where she was taken out by Nia Jax and per report, that angle was done to write Charlotte Flair off TV so she can have surgery.

On the June 22 edition of Monday Night RAW, Charlotte Flair challenged Asuka for the RAW Women’s Championship and was also involved in an angle in-which Nia Jax pushed Charlotte shoulder-first into a ring post and slammed a crate lid against Charlotte’s arm. On the latest installment of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer stated that Flair is set to undergo surgery.

Meltzer is not aware if Flair will be back in time or expected to be at SummerSlam which is currently set to take place on August 23rd. POST Wrestling’s John Pollock confirmed that the angle on RAW was done to write Flair off TV.

On WWE’s official website, a storyline update was provided on Charlotte Flair and it was hinted that after Flair’s brawl with Jax, she may have suffered a collarbone fracture.

“Flair had already suffered an injury in a brawl with Jax prior to her Raw Women’s Title Match with Asuka. After coming up short against The Empress of Tomorrow, The Queen was ruthlessly attacked in the backstage area by Jax, who slammed a road case into Flair’s arm. While the specifics of The Queen’s injury have not been fully determined, it is believed she may have suffered a potential collarbone fracture.”
