AEW Dynamite notes: Eddie Kingston answers TNT Title open challenge, matches set for 7/29

Eddie Kingston made his AEW debut by challenging Cody for the TNT Title, two championship matches set for 7/29, Brodie Lee attempts to recruit Hangman Page and more notes coming out of the 7/22 episode of Dynamite.

The opening match of the 7/22 episode of Dynamite was the TNT Championship open challenge. Answering the call this week was Eddie Kingston. Kingston and Cody battled in a No-DQ match that concluded with Cody retaining the title. Kingston received an immense amount of support on social media and the hashtag #SignEddieKingston was tweeted by fans and wrestlers alike. AEW also uploaded Kingston’s post-match promo to their social media channels.

Britt Baker further promoted her return to in-ring competition. She reiterated that she’ll be back in the ring by AEW’s All Out event which is scheduled for September 5th with the venue TBA. A clip of Britt Baker’s broken nose being checked out by doctors was also uploaded to AEW’s social media channels.

Brodie Lee attempted to recruit Hangman Page to The Dark Order. Dark Order ambushed Page after he declined which led to FTR (Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood) coming out for the save and they were later followed by Kenny Omega.

Scheduled for the 7/29 edition of Dynamite is Cody’s TNT Title open challenge, a tornado tag team match featuring Darby Allin and AEW World Champion Jon Moxley versus Brian Cage and Ricky Starks. Adding to the lineup is Diamante taking on AEW Women’s World Champion Hikaru Shida. Also, Kenny Omega and Hangman Page are defending their tag titles against Stu Grayson and Evil Uno of Dark Order. Closing out next week’s episode is The Inner Circle (Chris Jericho, Santana, Ortiz, Jake Hager & Sammy Guevara) taking on Jungle Boy, Luchasaurus, Chuck Taylor, Trent and Orange Cassidy.
