WWE SmackDown notes: Two title matches on 7/31, Kofi Kingston out of action, Otis/Mandy

Two title matches have been scheduled for next week, Kofi Kingston gives his blessing to Big E to go on a singles run, Otis and Mandy Rose return on 7/31 and more occurred on the 7/24 edition of Friday Night SmackDown.

The 7/22 episode of Friday Night SmackDown from the WWE Performance Center had several notes coming out of it including the announcement of two title matches for next week’s program. Nikki Cross defeated Alexa Bliss to earn another shot at Bayley’s SmackDown Women’s Championship.

Lucha House Party member Gran Metalik outlasted Shorty G, Lince Dorado and Drew Gulak in a Fatal 4-Way match to secure an opportunity at the WWE Intercontinental Title. Metalik and the champion AJ Styles are going one-on-one next week.

During a backstage segment, Kofi Kingston approached Big E and alerted him that after their tables match at Extreme Rules, he’ll be out of action up to six weeks. Kingston then convinced Big E that he needs to go on a singles run. E denied several times until Kingston convinced him that it’s his time to shine.

Mandy Rose and Mr. Money In The Bank Otis are returning to the blue-brand on 7/31. Their return is being billed as “The Love Story Continues”. After suffering a loss to Lacey Evans last week and clashing with her on tonight’s show, Naomi will get another shot at Evans on next week’s program.

Prior to Jeff Hardy and Sheamus’ Bar Fight on SmackDown, Hardy told Sheamus that his brother had to “delete his entire WWE career.”
