Matt Cardona debuts in All Elite Wrestling

Matt Cardona, the former Zack Ryder made his All Elite Wrestling Dynamite debut by saving Cody from a beat down by Dark Order.

The second match of the 7/29 edition of AEW Dynamite featured Cody defending the TNT Championship against WARHORSE. Cody was able to retain his title by way of submission and after the match, both he and WARHORSE embraced each other and were attacked from behind by Dark Order members John Silver and Alex Reynolds.

Reynolds and Silver then targeted Cody’s cornerman Arn Anderson and coming from the back to make the save was former WWE Intercontinental Champion Matt Cardona, formerly known as Zack Ryder. Cardona took out both Dark Order members and had his hand raised by Cody before the segment was over.

Cardona was released from the WWE as a part of the mass cuts and furloughs in April. Cardona’s former tag team partner, Brian Myers, formerly Curt Hawkins is scheduled to debut for IMPACT Wrestling soon.

Immediately following Dynamite, there will be a notes article posted to the site to recap the action of the night. Also following the show, John Pollock and Wai Ting will record a new edition of Rewind-A-Dynamite that’ll be up on the “podcasts” section of the site.
