For the second time this week, a promotion canceled its event moments before it was set to begin as a precautionary measure.
On Saturday, Stardom announced to its fans in attendance that the card in Osaka was canceled. The promotion stated that a performer, who had not traveled to the show, had tested positive for COVID-19. There were temperature checks administered to the performers at the show with no one reported to have a fever.
The promotion stated:
One Stardom member that was not on this roadtrip has tested as corona positive. Everyone on the trip has normal body temperature as checked this morning. The decision was made to cancel the event upon learning of the situation with the positive member.
Thank you to fans that came to the venue today. We’re sorry that we had to cancel the show (and for all the fans watching on Stardom World, too). Official 5★STAR GP2020 matches for today will be rescheduled to upcoming shows. Thank you for your support, we truly appreciate you.
This came two days after New Japan Pro Wrestling canceled a card prior to bell time due to a performer having a fever. NJPW provided an update on Friday that the performer had tested negative on several follow-up tests and they will resume their tour on Sunday.
Stardom is scheduled to hold two events next weekend at Yokohama Budokan.
Both New Japan and Stardom are owned by Bushiroad.
