On Wednesday’s episode of NXT, the final two participants qualified for the Ladder Match at TakeOver for the vacant North American title that takes place Saturday.

In the first of two “Last Chance” qualifying matches, Johnny Gargano pinned Ridge Holland after hitting the One Final Beat. The match included the spot where Gargano landed on his head after an errant powerslam by Holland. The match was taped last Wednesday where the match was paused when Gargano landed badly and was checked upon. The match resumed and they opted to show the spot, although the match picked right up quickly and was edited.

In the other qualifying match, Velveteen Dream pinned Finn Balor following an attack by Timothy Thatcher on Balor. This led to Velveteen Dream hitting the Dream Valley Driver and Purple Rainmaker for the win. The other members of the ladder match got involved with everyone trading strikes and maneuvers ending with Bronson Reed being the last one standing and holding up the North American title.

The ladder match at TakeOver will now consist of Bronson Reed, Damian Priest, Cameron Grimes, Johnny Gargano, and Velveteen Dream.

They have also announced a three-way tag match for the pre-show of TakeOver with the winners receiving a future NXT tag title shot. The match will consist of Breezango vs. Raul Mendoza & Joaquin Wilde vs. Danny Burch & Oney Lorcan. The pre-show will air at 6:30 pm Eastern on the WWE Network, WWE.com, Twitch, Facebook, and Twitter.
