To open WWE’s 2020 SummerSlam pay-per-view, Asuka challenged Bayley for the SmackDown Women’s Championship but after interference from then-RAW Women’s Champion Sasha Banks, Bayley was able to retain. Later in the night, Asuka met Sasha Banks for the RAW Women’s Title and tapped Banks out to win the title for a second time.

Asuka officially lost the title to Sasha Banks following the Extreme Rules pay-per-view in July and only a month after losing the belt, Asuka has regained the championship.
Sasha Banks and Bayley are still co-holders of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships and they’ll be defending their titles on August 30th at WWE’s Payback pay-per-view.
