WWE SummerSlam notes: Sonya Deville says goodbye, Rollins sports throwback Mysterio gear

Notes coming out of the 2020 SummerSlam pay-per-view include Sonya Deville saying "goodbye" to WWE.

Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose were scheduled to compete in a Hair vs. Hair match at SummerSlam prior to the past week of events taking place. Sonya Deville’s home was invaded by an individual who intended on abducting her and had been planning to do so for eight months. Mandy Rose was in the house with Deville and said individual texted Deville before he invaded her home and noted that he was going to physically harm Mandy Rose, real name Amanda Saccomanno. Rose and Deville’s SummerSlam match was converted into a ‘Loser Leaves WWE’ match and Sonya Deville was on the losing end of that bout.

Following the match, Deville tweeted out her goodbye to WWE:

For Seth Rollins’ match against Dominik Mysterio, Rollins sported Rey Mysterio’s 1997 Halloween Havoc gear. During Rollins and Dominik’s match, Angie Mysterio, mother to Dominick and wife of Rey, made an appearance and came into contact with Seth Rollins.

On the 8/24 edition of RAW, Kevin Owens will host The Kevin Owens Show with guest Aleister Black. Black has not appeared on RAW since he had his eye jammed into steel steps by Buddy Murphy and Seth Rollins. Tonight’s SummerSlam also saw Apollo Crews defeat MVP to retain the United States Championship and Drew McIntyre defeating Randy Orton to retain the WWE Championship.
