There were several news and notes coming out of Raw including a change to the advertised match between Seth Rollins and Rey Mysterio.

* They announced on the show that Rey Mysterio would not be facing Seth Rollins due to an injury sustained at Payback, which was identified on the show as a torn triceps. POST Wrestling was told that it is not considered a major injury while Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer has reported that the timetable is expected to be two months or possibly less with Mysterio able to rehab the injury and avoid surgery.

* A show-long series of matches occurred to establish the next WWE title contender for the Clash of Champions card on September 27th. Keith Lee defeated Dolph Ziggler, Randy Orton pinned Kevin Owens, and Seth Rollins beat Dominik Mysterio with the winners advancing to a three-way match in the main event of Raw where Orton pinned Rollins to become the number one contender.

* In an abrupt break-up, The IIconics lost to Ruby Riott & Liv Morgan where the stipulation was that the winning team would receive a women’s tag title shot, and the losers would disband. After the match, they appeared during a segment of Raw Underground where Royce threw Kay into the ring where she was knocked out with a head kick by Jessamyn Duke.

* One source noted to us that Retribution is expected to only appear on Raw moving forward.

* A match between Timothy Thatcher and Bronson Reed has been added to Tuesday night’s episode of NXT joining the 60-minute Iron Man Match for the vacant NXT title.
