One week after WWE Raw had its best viewership since the night after WrestleMania, they fell under two million viewers while still posting their second-best figure since June.
Coming out of WWE Payback, Monday’s episode averaged 1,896,000 viewers and a 0.58 in the 18-49 demographic, decreases of 6.5, and 13.4 percent respectively.
Raw opened with 2,104,000 viewers, it fell 10.5 percent to 1,882,000 viewers in the second hour, and experienced another drop of 9.5 percent for the final hour that culminated with Randy Orton vs. Keith Lee vs. Seth Rollins for the title shot at Clash of Champions.
Raw went against two NBA playoff games with the early game between Miami and Milwaukee doing 2,392,000 viewers (0.96 in 18-49) and the later game between Houston and Oklahoma City averaged 2,843,000 (1.19), which were the top two cable programs for the night. 90 Day Fiance was third with 3,046,000 viewers and a 0.78 demo rating. WWE Raw finished 4th, 6th, and 7th for the night.
In the key demo, it was the show’s second-best rating since the night after WrestleMania trailing last week’s rating of 0.67. Both weeks of Raw were coming off pay-per-views but it’s also clear that the introduction of the ThunderDome has coincided with Raw getting out of the terrible slump throughout the summer and resurrected it’s 18-49 audience.
After five episodes featuring Raw Underground, the third hour has averaged 1,663,000 over those five weeks compared to an average of 1,541,000 for the prior five weeks without Raw Underground.
The third-hour declines this week were led by males 12-34 falling 22.5 percent from the first hour. Adults over 50 fell by 20 percent this week, which abnormally high for that demo and were the biggest drop among that group since March 30th.
The bright spot was females 12-34 increasing by 4 percent in the third hour.
This week’s female 12-34 audience increased by 13.5 percent and that follows last week’s gain by 16 percent, so the audience has grown from a 0.19 on August 17th to a 0.25 this week.
The 18-34 demographic held steady from the week prior with a 0.33 rating again this week, which was a good sign.
Males 18-49 fell by 13.5 percent this week, while adults 25-54 dropped by 13 percent, and women 18-49 declined by 11 percent.
