WWE RAW notes: Stipulation added to WWE Title match at Clash of Champions, Ivar’s injury

A stipulation has been added to the WWE Championship match at Clash of Champions, report on Ivar having neck surgery, The Hurt Business brawls with RETRIBUTION and more notes coming out of RAW.

To open Monday Night RAW, WWE Champion Drew McIntyre proposed that he and Randy Orton’s scheduled match at Clash of Champions on 9/27 be an Ambulance Match. Keith Lee soon entered the picture and it was promoted throughout the night that due to Randy Orton’s status following McIntyre’s attack on last week’s show, it’s not certain that he’ll be at Clash of Champions. Therefore, if Keith Lee were to beat McIntyre on RAW, Lee could possibly be challenging McIntyre for the title at Clash of Champions, all pending on Orton’s “status”.

Former RAW Tag Team Champion Ivar was injured going for a suicide dive on last week’s RAW. It was reported by F4WOnline’s Bryan Alvarez that Ivar is set to undergo neck surgery in Birmingham, Alabama. It was announced by WWE last week that Ivar suffered a cervical injury.

The conclusion of the 9/14 RAW saw The Hurt Business (MVP, Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin & Cedric Alexander) brawl with RETRIBUTION after RETRIBUTION interfered in Keith Lee and Drew McIntyre’s match. Earlier in the night, MVP agreed to help Adam Pearce fight off the group. POST Wrestling’s John Pollock has a report up on the site that confirms the spotlighted members of RETRIBUTION that had a promo segment on RAW.

There was an odd finish to the RAW Women’s Title match between Mickie James and Asuka. Asuka tried to lock in the “Asuka Lock” which led to Mickie James flipping herself over into a pin and she slapped her hand on the mat which was followed by the referee signaling for the match to end.

Seth Rollins defeated Dominik Mysterio in a Steel Cage match and after his win, Rollins attacked Murphy for getting involved in the match. Murphy was then checked on by Rey Mysterio’s daughter Aalyah.

Braun Strowman appeared on RAW Underground and faced Dolph Ziggler and Titus O’Neil. A match-up between Strowman and Dabba-Kato was teased but Shane McMahon stated that the fight will happen on the 9/21 edition of RAW Underground. While mentioning Dolph Ziggler, both he and MVP joined the commentary team with Michael Cole and Byron Saxton at different points during the night.
