Angel Garza and Andrade challenged The Street Profits (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins) for the RAW Tag Team Championships at Clash of Champions. Ford and Dawkins retained their titles but the finish of the match did not go over smoothly as Andrade kicked out of Dawkins’ move but the ref continued his count. Prior to that, Garza rolled himself out of the ring and in the camera shot, WWE’s ringside medical team could be seen making their way over to Garza. According to PWInsider, Garza was legitimately hurt and was checked on backstage. POST Wrestling’s John Pollock learned that The Street Profits were scheduled to win said match.

In the main event, Roman Reigns defeated Jey Uso to retain the Universal Championship. Jimmy Uso made his return during the match and threw in the towel for his brother who was being beaten by Reigns.

Shawn Michaels, Ric Flair, Big Show and Christian were all involved in the WWE Championship match between Drew McIntyre and Randy Orton. Orton delivered a punt kick to the aforementioned individuals at various points throughout he and McIntyre’s feud.

Sasha Banks appeared at Clash of Champions after being attacked by Bayley again on SmackDown. Banks took a kendo stick to Bayley and chased her out of the ring. Prior to that, Bayley issued an open challenge for her SmackDown Women’s Championship since Nikki Cross was not able to compete. In place of Cross was RAW Women’s Champion Asuka and that match resulted in a disqualification by way of Sasha Banks.

As reported by POST Wrestling, there were several changes to the Clash of Champions card including the SmackDown Women’s Title match being changed and the Women’s Tag Title match being taken off the show. WWE announced that the status of the Women’s Tag Title match between Liv Morgan and Ruby Riott and the champions Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler will be addressed on the 9/28 episode of Monday Night RAW.

Samoa Joe returned to commentary after several weeks off. Last week on RAW, Jerry Lawler filled in for Joe.

Zelina Vega unsuccessfully challenged Asuka for the RAW Women’s Title. Post-match, Vega attacked Asuka. Drew Gulak and R-Truth traded 24/7 Title victories throughout the night with Truth being champion at the end of the night. Also, John Cena did the voiceover for the Clash of Champions PPV intro.
