AEW Dynamite notes: World title eliminator tournament, Matt Hardy cleared, AEW Tag Titles

The AEW World Title Eliminator tournament kicks off next week, FTR's challengers at Full Gear to be determined next week as well and several more matches and segments lined up over the next few weeks of AEW programming.

AEW’s World Title Eliminator tournament is kicking off next week. The finals of the tournament will take place at Full Gear and the first round match-ups are listed as followed:

– Rey Fenix vs. Pentagon Jr.
– Joey Janela vs. Kenny Omega
– Colt Cabana vs. Hangman Adam Page
– Jungle Boy vs. Wardlow

Next week on Dynamite, Private Party (Isiah Kassidy & Marq Quen), John Silver and Alex Reynolds, The Butcher and The Blade along with The Young Bucks are competing in a four-way tag team match. The winners are heading to Full Gear on November 7th to challenge FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler) for their AEW World Tag Team Championships.

Matt Hardy appeared on Dynamite alongside his family. Hardy stated that he’s 100 percent cleared to return to the ring. Shortly after Hardy made that announcement, Sammy Guevara revealed that he attacked Hardy several weeks ago on Dynamite and their feud is not over. Hardy and Guevara last wrestled at AEW All Out where Hardy took a scary fall that resulted in his head colliding with the concrete.

In the main event of tonight’s Dynamite, Jon Moxley defeated Lance Archer to retain the AEW World Championship. Following the match, Moxley was choked out by Eddie Kingston who was flanked by Pentagon Jr. and Fenix.

On the 10/21 show, Britt Baker will be in action. Also, MJF and Chris Jericho will sit down to have a steak dinner with one another.

To open the 10/14 edition of the show, FTR successfully retained the AEW World Tag Team Titles by defeating Best Friends (Chuckie T & Trent). Following the match, Trent and Chuckie T were ambushed by Miro and Kip Sabian because during the tag title match, Trent ran through Sabian’s arcade game set-up.

In two weeks, Cody is putting his TNT Title on the line against Orange Cassidy. Their match on tonight’s program went to a time-limit draw. At Full Gear, Darby Allin is challenging for the TNT Title.
