WWE’s presentation of tonight’s Friday Night SmackDown is being billed as the ‘Season Premiere’ of the show as it has been a full calendar year since SmackDown debuted on FOX. FOX is hosting a kickoff show that starts at 7:30 PM EST that’s being hosted by Renee Paquette, formerly known as Renee Young and Booker T. Joining the two during various pockets of the show will be Stone Cold Steve Austin, David Ortiz and George Kittle.

There are several matches and segments set up for tonight’s show including Roman Reigns defending his Universal Championship against Braun Strowman. The Street Profits (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins) are putting their SmackDown Tag Titles on the line against the duo of Bobby Roode and Dolph Ziggler.
On top of those matches, Lars Sullivan is going one-on-one with Jeff Hardy and tonight’s show will feature the farewell of New Day as they’ll team together once more before the duo is split apart via the WWE Draft. Big E and the RAW Tag Team Champions Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston are clashing with Sheamus, Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura.
