The main event of the 10/21 episode of NXT was scheduled to be Roderick Strong and Bobby Fish challenging Breezango (Tyler Breeze & Fandango) for the NXT Tag Team Championships. Throughout the night, both Fish and Strong were ambushed separately which led to Danny Burch and Oney Lorcan filling in for them in the main event of the show.
Burch and Lorcan went on to defeat Breezango to capture the NXT Tag Team Championships and after the match, Pat McAfee stood in unison with Burch and Lorcan and Pat sarcastically threw up the Undisputed ERA hand gesture to the hard camera as Burch and Lorcan held up their newly-won tag team titles.

Pat McAfee was last featured on NXT when he was defeated by Adam Cole in a singles match at TakeOver 30.
Adam Cole was not physically present on tonight’s NXT program as he appeared virtually to support Strong and Fish in what would have been their NXT Tag Title match.
