The UFC has lost one of its championship fights for the UFC 256 pay-per-view in December as Amanda Nunes will be unable to compete on the card.
ESPN’s Brett Okamoto broke the news that the fight was off citing undisclosed reasons leading to dual champion Amanda Nunes withdrawing from her featherweight title defense against Megan Anderson on December 12th.
Anderson responded to the report wishing the champion a speedy recovery and added that the UFC is attempting to reschedule the fight for early next year.

Nunes, 32, won the women’s bantamweight title in July 2016 from Meisha Tate and added the featherweight championship in December 2018 when she stopped Cris “Cyborg” at UFC 232. She last fought at UFC 250 this past June retain the featherweight gold with a unanimous decision against Felicia Spencer.
Anderson, 30, was next in line for the 145-pound championship after stoppage victories against Zarah Fairn Dos Santos and Norma Dumont Viana.
The UFC 256 card also features men’s bantamweight champion Petr Yan defending his title against Aljamain Sterling.
