NXT made the announcement that on next week’s program, NXT Champion Finn Balor will be returning. At TakeOver: 31 during his NXT Title defense against Kyle O’Reilly, Balor suffered a fractured jaw. He underwent successful surgery for the injury and shared the following details about the surgical process:
Last Friday, i underwent surgery for 2 fractures of my jaw, including one going into my tooth.
After the tooth was removed, I was wired shut to restore my bite and help align the fractures. Then 3 plates where screwed in to fixate the fractures for a quick recovery.
Thankfully no wires were needed after surgery!
Along with Finn Balor’s return next week is the defense of the NXT Women’s Championship. The champion Io Shirai is putting her title on the line against former champion Rhea Ripley. At NXT Halloween Havoc, Rhea defeated Raquel Gonzalez while Io retained her NXT Women’s Title by besting Candice LeRae.
While mentioning LeRae, she competed on the 11/11 episode of NXT. She beat Toni Storm in singles competition and it was later revealed that the individual behind the ‘Ghostface’ mask is Indi Hartwell. Hartwell was behind the mask when she helped Johnny Gargano become NXT North American Champion and she attempted to help Candice beat Io at Halloween Havoc.
