The final ten minutes of the 11/18 episode of NXT featured two separate storylines. The first of the two saw the return of NXT Champion Finn Balor who has been out of action since TakeOver XXX where he broke his jaw in two different places while defending the NXT Title against Kyle O’Reilly. Balor was interrupted by The Brand (Pat McAfee, Pete Dunne, Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch). McAfee demanded that Balor hand his title over and then Balor signaled that he was not alone as Undisputed ERA returned in full force and brawled with The Brand to close the show.

Prior to Balor’s return, Io Shirai and Rhea Ripley clashed for the NXT Women’s Championship. Shirai retained the title after hitting her moonsault onto Ripley.
Next week on NXT, Wade Barrett will not be present on the show so filling in on commentary alongside Vic Joseph will be former NXT Champion Kevin Owens.
To open NXT, Johnny Gargano had a match with Leon Ruff for the North American Championship. Ruff won the match via disqualification after Damian Priest pulled Leon out of the ring and hit him so he could retain the title. Following the match, Ruff confronted Priest about what he did and slapped him. Later in the show, Gargano ambushed Priest before his match and was soon followed out by Leon Ruff who went after both Gargano and Priest.
