Mike Bennett returns to ROH, reunites with Matt Taven

Mike Bennett is back in Ring of Honor and has reunited with his former 'Kingdom' stablemate Matt Taven.

The most recent episode of Ring of Honor television was headlined by former ROH World Champion Matt Taven facing Bateman in singles competition. Taven picked up the win but following his win, he was ambushed by his former ‘Kingdom’ stablemate Vincent. Vincent has been aligned with Bateman and both men beat Taven down in the ring.

Coming in for the save was an original member of The Kingdom in former ROH World Tag Team Champion Mike Bennett. Bennett appeared after the lights in the building cut off and when they cut back on, he was in the ring and ran off both Vincent and Bateman.

Together, Bennett and Taven have held the ROH and IWGP Tag Team Championships. Bennett spent the last several years of his career in WWE. Both he and his wife, Maria Kanellis-Bennett were released from WWE in April of this year as a part of the company’s mass cuts/furloughs.

Mike and Maria appeared on Ring of Honor’s official podcast over the Summer and during POST Wrestling’s interview with Matt Taven, he expressed interest in reuniting with Mike and added that the two consistently spoke about the idea of a reunion.

Bennett is also scheduled to compete in the finals of the United Wrestling Network’s World Championship tournament against Chris Dickinson.
