NXT’s next TakeOver show is taking place on December 6th and the first championship match has been made official for the show. The current NXT North American Champion Leon Ruff is set to defend his title against Johnny Gargano and Damian Priest in a Triple-Threat match.
The match was made official after Ruff’s appearance on The K.O. show. Kevin Owens was present on NXT in the place of Wade Barrett who is not on commentary for tonight’s show. NXT GM William Regal came out and made it official that Ruff will defend the title at TakeOver.

Several weeks ago, Leon Ruff pinned Johnny Gargano to become North American Champion with assistance from Damian Priest. The following week in a rematch between the two, Priest interfered and hit Ruff on purpose to cost Gargano the match.
Ruff was not pleased with Priest’s actions and slapped him during a segment involving Regal. As of this writing, here’s the lineup for TakeOver: WarGames:
- WarGames Match: Undisputed ERA (Adam Cole, Bobby Fish, Kyle O’Reilly & Roderick Strong) vs. Pat McAfee, Pete Dunne, Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch
- WarGames Match: Candice LeRae, Dakota Kai, Raquel Gonzalez & Toni Storm vs. Shotzi Blackheart, TBD, TBD & TBD
- NXT North American Championship: Leon Ruff (c) vs. Damian Priest vs. Johnny Gargano
