WWE SmackDown notes: Steve Cutler & Wesley Blake return, Pat Patterson tributes

The 12/4 episode of SmackDown saw Steve Cutler and Wesley Blake align with King Corbin, Pat Patterson tributes and Big E's new theme music.

After losing to Murphy on last week’s episode of SmackDown, King Corbin got his rematch and did not come alone as he was flanked by Steve Cutler and Wesley Blake, formerly of The Forgotten Sons. The trio has been off TV since May. Jaxson Ryker was not with Blake and Cutler either. The duo helped Corbin get his win back over Murphy and they also attacked Rey and Dominik Mysterio.

There were a number of tributes to the late Pat Patterson who passed away this week. To kick off SmackDown, there was a ten bell salute for Pat and on the stage along with the on-screen talents were Vince McMahon, Gerald Brisco and Sgt. Slaughter. WWE held a six-man tag team match with all [former and current] Intercontinental Champion[s] involved. Big E, Rey Mysterio and Daniel Bryan defeated Dolph Ziggler, Shinsuke Nakamura and Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn. On display at ringside was the original WWF Intercontinental Title belt.

While mentioning Big E, he debuted new theme music that was created by Grammy nominated artist Wale.

The main event of SmackDown saw Kevin Owens and Otis take on Jey Uso and Universal Champion Roman Reigns. The match ended in a disqualification. As Roman and Jey beat Kevin Owens down with chairs, Roman took a chair to the back of Uso for not tagging him in the match in a timely manner.
