NXT’s Cameron Grimes has been in the mix with the likes of Dexter Lumis, Timothy Thatcher and Tommaso Ciampa over the past several months. On last night’s program on the USA Network, it was announced that Grimes will be out of action for 4-6 weeks. During the show, Thatcher twisted Grimes’ leg after Grimes lost to Ciampa in a singles match.

Per PWInsider, Grimes underwent surgery last week and although the nature of his surgery/injury has yet to be confirmed by WWE, he will indeed be out of action until early 2021.

Grimes was in action earlier this month at NXT TakeOver: WarGames where he was defeated by Dexter Lumis in a Strap match. Grimes has been a part of NXT since early 2019. Throughout his time on the brand, he made it to the finals of the ‘Breakout’ tournament which he lost to ACH, the former Jordan Myles in NXT. Grimes also challenged Keith Lee for the North American Championship on several occasions this year.

NXT is gearing up for their ‘New Year’s Evil’ special on 1/6 and announced for the show is Finn Balor defending the NXT Championship against Kyle O’Reilly along with Damian Priest versus Karrion Kross.
