Closing out WWE’s final pay-per-view of their calendar year was ‘The Fiend’ Bray Wyatt taking on Randy Orton in a Firefly Inferno match. The conclusion of the match saw Orton push The Fiend into the flames and while on fire, Wyatt chased Orton into the ring and was hit with an RKO. Orton went to the outside, grabbed a can of gasoline and a match and set The Fiend on fire to win the Firefly Inferno bout.

WWE confirmed that the 2021 Royal Rumble pay-per-view is set for January 31st. Last year’s winners were Charlotte Flair who returned to action at TLC and the current WWE Champion Drew McIntyre. While mentioning Charlotte, two-time WWE Hall Of Famer Ric Flair was shown on-screen during she and Asuka’s Women’s Tag Team Title match. Ric was present at Tropicana Field for Charlotte’s return.

On the Kickoff show, Big E pinned Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn. With that victory, Big E earned himself a shot at the I.C. Title on the Christmas Day episode of SmackDown on FOX. The show is being taped on 12/22.

WWE provided a storyline update on Lana after she was ambushed by former Women’s Tag Team Champions Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler. Lana was scheduled to tag with Asuka at TLC in the title match but after the attack from Jax and Baszler, she suffered a MCL injury and a radial fracture in her wrist.
