Headlining night one of New Japan Pro-Wrestling’s Wrestle Kingdom 15 was Kota Ibushi challenging Tetsuya Naito for the IWGP Heavyweight and Intercontinental Championships. Awaiting the winner of the match is ‘Switchblade’ Jay White who’ll be challenging for the double titles on night two of Wrestle Kingdom.

Ibushi and Naito went at it for over 30 minutes and after a series of Kamigoye strikes and one final one to the middle of Naito’s face, Ibushi pinned him to win the IWGP Heavyweight Championship for the first time and also become a two-time Intercontinental Champion.

Jay White got his spot in the Wrestle Kingdom night two main event by defeating Ibushi for his Double title challenger briefcase at the 2020 Power Struggle event.

After Ibushi’s main event win, he was confronted by Jay White who alerted him that his reign as double title holder comes to an end tomorrow.
