The crossover between All Elite Wrestling and IMPACT Wrestling took its next step on night one of AEW New Year’s Smash. The main event saw Kenny Omega defend his AEW World Championship against Rey Fenix. After the match, awaiting Omega was Jon Moxley who Omega defeated for the title at ‘Winter Is Coming’. As Moxley was waiting for Omega to turn around, he was blindsided by the IMPACT Tag Team Champions Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson.
Gallows and Anderson laid out Moxley and finished him off with a ‘Magic Killer’. Shortly after, AEW World Tag Team Champions The Young Bucks came out to the ring and while all former Bullet Club members were in the ring, Omega, Gallows and Anderson stood in the center waiting for Matt and Nick Jackson to join in on the Two Sweet.
